Fair Park Flowers

Fair Park

One of the first days we spent outside of the apartment or within walking distance of it. We took a quick drive over to the old Cotton Bowl and walked around the gardens surrounding it. All the flowers were in full bloom, and it was refreshing to see after spending the last 6 weeks in isolation.

Darcy is still struggling in the heat, and we haven’t even finished spring yet. I really think she might melt by the time August rolls around. Luckily the heat calms her down a bit and made for some good photo opportunities with Kelly.

As we were about to turn in, we met a very interesting character that took care of the goose family that calls the park home. Their were 4 baby geese, apparently there used to be five. One ended up a snapping turtle meal, so this guy took it upon himself to protect the family from the turtles. He’s there every day feeding and watching over them. They are his family. It was a little crazy, but it warmed my heart that this man chose to spend his time watching over birds instead of complaining about the current state of affairs.
