January, where did you go?
Dallas Life
January was filled with a lot of work, a lot of rain, and a lot of cold weather. The one good thing from the temperature swings and weather conditions is it tends to make for some great sunrises and sunsets.
Not a lot has happened otherwise. We’ve been pretty low key, spending most of our time catching up on movies, new tv shows, and sleep. I think we’re both ready for warmer weather to get outside and enjoy some sunshine.
Kelly starts her new job in a few weeks and we’re both excited. She’s excited to get back in the groove and out of the house. I’m excited to see her take on new challenges and grow into the vision she has for herself and the company.
We are starting to plan some travel for 2020 and this year should be filled with a lot of family and friends. The way it should be!
Darcy. Devil Child. Louise.
She’s wild. She’s non stop energy. She eats for a small family. But man she’s so much fun…when she’s not chewing you hand off.
It’s been 6 weeks since Darcy came into our lives. She’s nearly doubled in size (currently 39lb) and is developing quite the personality. She tries to dig through the concrete floor when she’s getting tired, loves to nibble on my beard, and develops a brilliant twinkle in her eye right before she gets into something.
She just learned how fun it is to run and jump, so we’re doing that on everything and it’s super fun…for her. Although, it is impressive the height she can get already. Jumping a 2-3ft retaining wall is an every walk thing for her.
Kelly has spent a tremendous amount of time training her during the day and it’s starting to show. Sit is easy, even when outside and on a walk. Shake (with each hand) is a breeze. But leave it is quite the struggle bus for her. Strings, shoes, loose clothing, legs, and ankles are are victims around a teething Darcy. We have two more months of puppy teeth and they can’t come in fast enough.
I think she’s going to be a great dog and full of adventure. We’re on our way to Austin for the first time with her as I write this post. She’s going to meet a lot of friends and their dogs, check out our old stomping grounds, and camp for the first time. The next update should be filled with plenty of stories…if we come back alive and in one piece.
Photography Challenges
I joined 52frames to get out of my norm and try new photography styles and settings. So far it’s been fun and challenging, especially finding the tome during the week to shoot. Every week is a new theme. The last two weeks have been “Fill the Frame” and “From Above”. The shots below were my submissions. I’m trying to get my friend, Greg, to join the fun. Things are always better with friends.
